Invitation from the organisers

As President of the Environmental Engineering Society of Singapore (EESS), I am very pleased to invite you to attend the WEF-EESS Asia-Pacific Wastewater Treatment and Reuse Conference which will be held in Singapore on 28 June – 1 July 2015.

EESS, one of the member associations of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) in the Asia-Pacific Region, has a long-standing collaboration with WEF, dating back to 1998 when the 1st WEFTEC Asia was organized in Singapore. Despite the economic crisis encountered in Asia then, that conference achieved its goal in boosting the linkages of water professionals in Asia-Pacific with those from North America. Since then, many other joint efforts have been developed such as EESSWEF joint membership, joint promotional activities during the Singapore International Water Week, publications in magazine and newsletters and so on.

This Conference is the outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between EESS and WEF on 23 February 2012. As wastewater management issues become increasingly important due to rapid population growth and industrialization in the Asia-Pacific region, it is of high importance to have such a chance to gather water professionals from all over the world. The main purposes of the joint Conference are to share technical expertise and solutions in wastewater management; and to foster potential international cooperation. The Conference will provide a platform for an exchange of views and experiences on best practices and innovative technologies amongst relevant policymakers, operational experts and researchers from governments, international organizations, institutions and industry. It is foreseeable that EESS and WEF would further strengthen the linkages among their members through this platform.

I look forward to seeing you all at the Conference.

In the spirit of innovation and a shared commitment to sustainable global water resources, I invite water professionals everywhere to join us for an exciting new joint conference organized by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the Environmental Engineering Society of Singapore (EESS). The WEF-EESS Asia Pacific Conference on Wastewater Treatment and Reuse, a unique opportunity to learn about the very latest innovations that will help wastewater treatment plants become the water resource recovery facilities needed for a sustainable global environment, is not to be missed and takes place in Singapore 28 June – 1 July 2015.

The importance of knowledge exchange on the science, technology, and best practices of water resource recovery cannot be overestimated. Next year practitioners and researchers from around the world will be presenting and networking at the WEF-EESS conference. Partnerships such as the dynamic relationship between WEF and EESS add value and depth to a body of knowledge that is expanding daily, and will result in an enhanced overall learning experience. Please consider submitting an abstract for this conference and definitely mark your calendars for 28 June – 1 July 2015, when water leaders from around the world will be discussing and defining the future of water. We look forward to seeing you there.
